Influencer marketing has become one of the most powerful ways for brands to gain new customers and spread the word about their products. But finding influencers is no easy task, in fact 22% of brands and marketers have a hard time doing it (according to InfluencerMarketingHub).

And one time, I too was part of that statistic. But after years of finding relevant influencers for myself and my clients, I’ve racked up a ton of free influencer-finding resources.

How to Build An Influencer Email List Manually

If you want to build an influencer email list on your own, then follow these steps.

1. Create a list of relevant hashtags to your brand

2. Search for influencers through the top posts of each hashtag

3. After you find an influencer you like, save their information in this free spreadsheet

The most important field in the spreadsheet is the one for the email address. To find an influencer’s email, go to their profile (from mobile) and look for an email button. If there’s no email button, check to see if they’ve listed their email in their bio.

Also, use this free engagement rate calculator to find out the engagement rate of an influencer.

All that’s left is to rinse and repeat this process until you reach your desired amount of influencers.

An alternative method is to use a chrome extension to scrape your list of relevant hashtags. Then just handpick the influencers you like, and save them in the spreadsheet I provided.

The only issue with this method is that you run the risk of compromising your IG account, since scraping is against Instagrams’ TOC. To avoid this create a dummy account and use a free VPN when using the extension.

Wrapping up

And that’s it! These are all of the free resources for finding influencer lists I’ve come across so far. I will be updating this list as time goes on and I discover more free ways to find influencers.

If there are any tools I might have missed, please let me know in the comments and I’ll make sure to include them in the article!
